Hey, Twitter, Fly In Formation.

Everyone’s eyebrows are raised at the latest billion dollar investment in Twitter.

Good reason, Twitter keeps flying into window panes instead of flying in formation.

Twitter’s problem is they are not buying up all the spin off applications and making an integrated multi-media micro-blogging platform. Facebook is.

If Twitter’s owners had some sense they would develop an ad vector that consisted of paid corporate microblogs that Twitter users could choose to follow. These commercial microblogs could be given a separate list in the twitter interface and, like adwords, bid for rank on a user’s twitter space.

The thing most businesses and marketing companies don’t recognize is that media has not changed much at all. Just like the television media, internet media is a collection of free service vectors on which to place paid service vectors. Free service vectors are bait in which you set your hooks to paid service vectors and always has been. So the bait has changed and the hooks have changed. So what?

Time for Twitter and all the marketing firms to paddle back to shore and hump it to the bait store and buy some new tackle instead of sitting on their asses wondering why the fish ain’t biting.

Rule number one: The rules are always changing.

Information does not want to be free, Howard.  Information wants to have the price the market will bear.  And you and I and everyone should see the value in sharing (advertising and brand identity) and caring (buying and selling for sustenance).

We have all been had.  There are thousands of companies out there  telling us our content has no monetary value and then using our sweat to make billions on advertising and claiming they are benevolently providing us a service.  THERE IS NO BENEVOLENCE ONLY BUSINESS.

Every post you put on the web has value.  Every keystroke, every mouse click has value.  Corporations are using it to advertise, analyze markets, sell to you.  YOU SHOULD HAVE A PIECE OF THE MONETARY PIE.

The problem is not technology.  Sending payment to everyone is damned easy.  The problem is middle men.  MIDDLE MEN MAKE THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING ARTIFICIALLY HIGH.

We can all profit.  Everything we do has worth.  We can charge for everything.  Everytime someone looks at our content we can profit.  DEAL DIRECT TO LOWER THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, DON’T GIVE YOUR WORK AND CONTENT AWAY FOR FREE.  THE WEBSITES DON’T.  THE CARRIERS DON’T.

You have worth.  You have value.  YOU MUST BE PAID WHEN YOUR CONTENT IS DISPLAYED.

Stop being a Tube.  Stop being a Twit.  Stop being a Face.  Stop being a Space.  Stop Digging.  Stop Gurgling.  You are not children any more.  YOU ARE THE KEY.  ENJOY CAPITALISM.  DEMAND PAYMENT.

There is a Fair Global Price for everything and it is not Open Source.  THE COMMONS WILL ALWAYS BE A TRAGEDY.

ONE WORLD, FIRST WORLD.

I have been thinking about why we pour our heart out onto the web for “nothing”.  The reality is it is not for nothing.  We are all seeking something in exchange for our efforts as as abstract as that something may be.

You are putting something onto the Internet Table in order to take something from the Internet Table.

If you are not working for remuneration, you are advertising.  You are seeking intangibles that–in some way–will lead to a transaction.  You are creating a brand.

All the “OpenSource”.  All the blogs, all the webpages, all the sites, all the comments, all the games–everything–is about building your brand.

It is about “You, Incorporated”.

You want to ultimately acquire the world you want.

You want to rule your world.

There is a word for it: “Anarchy”

You each have no leader, but yourself.  Yet we work together in Synergy.

We are working toward a world of the Independent Global Professional.

If you are not selling something, you are advertising something.
