Icons: Systema Iconic Language: Part III

My reading today has raised a number of issues regarding iconic language:

  • Iconic Linguistics
  • Iconic Semantics
  • Iconic Grammars
  • Iconic Thesauri
  • Iconic Dictionaries
  • Iconic Networks
  • Iconic Wikis
  • Iconic Wikipedias
  • Iconic Fonts
  • and in general semiotics

It’s quite a list to think about.  And these are composed of icons describing icons.  No Text! Except perhaps for one word labels.  There are also other issues such as cultural icon classes and national language icon classes which could require iconic translation.

All together I have come to realize just how young the whole concept of iconics is.
