I had a very good discussion today with a biochemist who is working for the federal virology lab in Winnipeg, Canada. We discussed Marshall McLuhan and he pointed out an error in how I was interpreting McLuhan and applying it to the Zachman Framework. He explained that I had to think of the data as the message and the network as the medium. He used a transportation system as an example where the people were the data and the vehicles were the packets in the transportation network.
As you can see, now the message and the medium have a place in the framework.
